Tapping Points Diagram

This EFT chart illustrates the meridian points that are stimulated by Tapping. These are the same meridian points used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Stimulating these meridian points in a specific order helps restore the free flow of energy in the body that has become stagnant due to persistent negative emotions and thoughts.

This diagram illustrates the meridian points that are stimulated by Tapping. These are the same meridian points used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Stimulating these meridian points in a specific order helps restore the free flow of energy in the body that has become stagnant due to persistent negative emotions and thoughts.

Sometimes we are too much ‘in our heads’ and Tapping helps us reconnect with our body and share in the wisdom of the mind-body. When you perform a Tapping exercise, you can often physically feel the results almost instantly. It is a holistic approach to improved well-being.

Tapping points are on both sides of the body; for best results, alternate between Tapping on the right side and the left side of the body (using both the opposite hand and using the same-side hand). This will help activate the mind-body, and uncover deeply buried and hidden fears.

What Are theTapping Points?

There are eight points used in Tapping. Most of them are in the area of the face; exceptions being the karate chop point (on the hand), the collarbone and under the arm.

  • The karate chop point
  • The eyebrow (inner eyebrow)
  • The side of the eye
  • Under the eye
  • Under the nose
  • Chin
  • Collarbone
  • Under arm
  • Top of head

Most meridian points are located where the nerves enter the muscle, where the muscle joins a bone, or the center of the muscle. The meridian points used in Tapping are particularly effective at healing symptoms associated with emotional distress and fear. Even though we are often unaware that we carry emotional distress with us in our bodies, it is stored in various organs and other locations in the body.

Physical ailments are often attributed to external causes (such as diet or environmental pollutants) but much of the issues most people face are in fact due to stress – and stress is due to unchecked fear and unconscious fear-based choices (or, seeing the future based on a worst-case scenario).

In acupuncture, these points correspond to “gateways” or “transfer points” of energy in the body. There are hundreds of these points throughout the body running symmetrically on both sides. In cases of stress or chronic negative thought energy, some of the meridians become congested or blocked while others become depleted as they do not receive proper energy flow.

The River of Energy

The energy system is just like a river. Normally the flow of energy in the body is smooth and even, and all areas of the body receive ample amounts of energy. The trouble starts when negativity creeps in. If you throw enough rocks (“I’m not good enough. I’m not worthy. I can’t”, etc.) in the river, you will create turbulence in some areas, stagnation in others, and wild rapids elsewhere.

‘Upstream’ will have blockages and an overabundance of energy (which is just as harmful as a scarcity of energy) while ‘downstream’ will be depleted and can essentially ‘run dry’. These imbalances correspond to particular organs as well as specific mental and emotional blockages (the “I can’t” ideas).

What happens when energy stagnates? You may experience a problem in the corresponding organ, or an inability to take action on what you know takes you closer to your goals.

Gently tapping on certain meridian points with the fingertips is used to release stuck energy and balance the energy flow. You may be wondering why the fingertips and not the knuckles? Well, the fingertips have meridian points too, and these are also stimulated while they are stimulating other meridians!

The physical act of Tapping is like of gently tapping at the rocks in the river until they come loose, allowing the strength of the current to sweep them downstream and releasing even more current to flow downstream.

Simultaneously releasing fears and releasing trapped energy creates a powerful transformation in your life!
